How To Sleep Better

Nothing is more annoying than not being able to sleep. Tossing and turning. Your mind will be racing, going over everything that happened recently, night noises may keep you awake. What can you do? There are things you can do to get a nice sleep! Here are some new tricks to sleep well. These tips are also known as “Sleep Hygiene.”
  1. Sleep only when you feel sleepy.

  2. If you are unable to feel asleep within 20 minutes, then get up and do something tiresome until you feel sleepy.

  1. Avoid having a heavy sleep during day time.

  2. Get up and go to bed the same time every day, i.e. that is fix up a schedule and get on to it.

  3. Regular exercise is recommended to help you sleep well.

  1. Exercising during morning hours or early afternoon will not come in contact with sleep.

  2. Avoid doing exercise at least 4 hours before your bedtime.

  3. Develop sleep rituals by hearing a relaxing music, reading something soothing for 15 minutes, having a cup of caffeine free tea, doing some relaxation exercises.

  1. Try to have a light snack before bed, sometimes empty stomach may interfere with sleep but remember not to eat heavy meals before bedtime that can also interfere as well.

  2. Hot bath before bedtime may also helps you to get a good sleep.

  4. If light in the early morning troubles you, get a blackout shade or wear a sleep mask.

In the past 140 years Japan has not met such a massive 8.9/9.0 magnitude earthquake which hits the Pacific Ocean nearby Northeastern Japan at around 2:46pm on March 11 (JST) causing damage with blackouts, fire and tsunami. Again the third blast strikes Japan’s tsunami-damaged nuclear plant, raising new radiation fears. The government says this radioactive material leaking from reactors was enough to “impact human health” and the risk of more leaks was “very high.” Japan’s meteorological agency reported that the prevailing wind in the area of the stricken plant was heading east into the Pacific, which would help carry away any radiation.

Homemade soan papdi

Soan papdi Ingredients :
  • 1/2 cup gram flour (Besan)
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cups of ghee
  • Cardamom as required
  • 2 tablespoon rose water (optional)
  • Few toasted unsalted almonds (garnish)
Method :
  1. In a large saucepan heat the ghee in medium heat.
  2. Toast the flours slowly until it becomes light brown.
  3. Remove from heat to a big bowl.
  4. In a separate pan, prepare sugar syrup by dissolving sugar in water.
  5. The sugar should be dissolved in water until you get a thick syrup.
  6. At this stage, syrup will form a ball when dropped in cold water and when removed from the water can be easily flattened (soft ball stage).
  7. Getting a correct syrup consistency is one of the most important step.
  8. Mix syrup in bowl with toasted flour.
  9. Beat until flakes are formed.
  10. Garnish it with almonds and cashew bits.
  11. Pour into a baking dish.
  12. Pat it down into 1 inch thickness.
  13. Wait atleast for 30 minutes.
  14. Cut into pieces and Soan papdi is now ready to serve!!!!!!!!!!Yummy

Valentine’s day recipe

Big Valentine Cookie

  • 1 package refrigerated cookie dough(any flavour)
  • Decorator icing (optional)
  • Valentine candies (optional)
  • Melted chocolate (optional)
Preparation:
  1. After the dough is well-chilled shape an entire package of cookie dough into heart shape on greased baking sheet.
  2. BAKE according to package directions, adding 3 to 4 minutes to the baking time on the package.
  3. Cool on baking sheet for about a minute.
  4. Carefully loosen cookie with spatula. Cool on baking sheet completely.
  5. DECORATE with candies, icing and melted chocolate.
Valentine Pizza
Ingredients :
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • Dry yeast ar required
  • 1 1/4 cups of warm water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Chopped fresh rosemary as required
  • Pizza sauce as required
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Ripe tomatoes as required
  • 5 slices vegetarian pepperoni
  • Sliced black olives

Method :
  1. Place bread flour, yeast, water, and 2 tablespoons olive oil into the bread machine pan.
  2. Select the Dough setting. Press Start.
  3. When the dough is finished, squeeze rosemary into the dough.
  4. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  5. Divide the dough into three portions.
  6. Shape each piece into a heart shape about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Brush with remaining olive oil and spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each pizza.
  8. Sprinkle cheese over pizza sauce, and arrange tomatoes, pepperoni and sliced olives on top.
  9. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until cheese melts and crust turns to golden brown.
Heart-in-the Hole Eggs and Toast
Heart-in-the Hole Eggs and Toast Ingredients :
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 slice bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cucumber
  • Cherries as required
Method :
  1. Using a 3-inch heart-shaped cutter, or sharp knife, cut heart out of the center of the bread.
  2. In a medium non-stick pan over medium low heat melt butter.
  3. Place the bread, heart stencil and cut-out heart in the pan.
  4. Cook about 2 minutes, or until bread is toasted on one side.
  5. The cucumber garnish can be cut with a cookie cutter by slicing the cucumber the long way instead of across the length.
  6. A large cookie cutter can also be used to hold the shape of a “sunny-side up” egg or a poached egg.
  7. If sunny-side up eggs are not to your liking, then once the egg is set turn over the filled stencil and cook about 1 minute more, or until the yolk is set.
  8. Add some salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Spread heart cut-out with jam, if desired.
  10. Heart-in-the Hole Eggs and Toast is ready to serve!!

Preventing dark circles under eyes

Dark circles are a common skin bane. But many of us don’t know what it is that which makes those unwanted circles appear.

Overworking makes your skin look pale and saggy and brings out dark circles. Besides these, Ageing is another cause for dark circles owing to the skin becoming paler and thinner with age. Exposure to the sun for too long can also produce dark circles due to the skin releasing melanin that makes the skin look dark and the dark circles become more visible.

Sometimes allergies too result in visible dark circles. Certain allergies cause a lot of itching near the eyes and when the portion which itches is rubbed, the dark circles become markedly visible.   1. Keep a pair of fine slices of cucumber on your eyes for 10-15 minutes. Make sure the juice of cucumber doesn’t get into your eyes.

    The caffiene in the tea is known to lessen the dark circle effect. In fact caffiene is also known to reduce puffiness around the eyes by lessening the water content that causes the puffiness. Once done, wipe the area under your eyes with a handkerchief/facecloth dipped in cold water.

  4. Massage your eyes with almond oil before going to sleep. Almond oil works wonders on under eye skin.
