The 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant was at the Credicard Hall in Brazil on 12th of September 2011.
Delegates from 89 countries and territories competed for the title of Miss Universe 2011 this year in Brazil.
Miss-Universe 2010 - Ximena Navarrete
After a tough competition Miss Angola, Leila Lopes was announced as Miss Universe 2011, taking over the reign of Ximena Navarrete, Miss Universe and Miss Mexico 2010. At the end of the event Ximena Navarrete of Mexico crowned her successor, Leila Lopes of Angola.

An African beauty has not been crowned Miss Universe since 1999, when Miss Botswana, Mpule Kwelagobe, took the crown.
Responding to questions, Lopes said that she has never had cosmetic surgery of any kind and that her three tips for beauty were
- To get a lot of sleep
- Use sunscreen even when it’s not sunny
- To drink lots of water
She said her smile was her best weapon in the competition.
The first runner-up in the competition was 23-year-old Olesia Stefanko of Ukraine.
The second runner-up was Priscila Machado of Brazil.
The third was Miss Philippines and the fourth Miss China.

Miss USA (and Miss California) Alyssa Campanella is there in the 2011’s Top 15 out of a total of 88 contestants.
